Dorrells Pierji gave Willie Mullins his 12th winner of the Galway Festival when he proved too strong for the opposition in the final race - the Fr. Breen Memorial (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
The 9/10 favourite made his winning move at the two pole and outgunned his four rivals as he hit the line two and three quarter lengths to the good.
It was a third winner of the week-long festival for jockey Patrick Mullins. Beautiful Citi chased the winner home, without threatening, at 9/4.
Willie Mullins said: “He made hard work of it but did it nicely in the end. He’s a horse that will go novice hurdling now and stay going for the winter.
“The horses were in great form all week and the jockeys were all riding fantastic as well. I’m delighted the way the whole week turned out, and my staff have been excellent all week.
“Sharjah would have to be the highlight (in the Galway Hurdle) but Riven Light also has to come in there as well. I’m delighted also to have Ruby back in winning form too.
“We’re lucky to have such good owners behind the yard and without them we wouldn’t be able to have festivals like this."
With 12 winners, Mullins was the leading trainer at this year's Galway festival equalling his score from last year. Dermot Weld is the only trainer to have more winners in a week at Galway - 17 in 2011.
