Mullins and Walsh double up with Mourad
Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh notched a double when Mourad ran out an easy winner of the Ladbrokes.com Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Walsh sent his mount to the front after the second last and he soon opened up a commanding lead.
The Sinndar gelding kept on strongly to record a 12-length success over 11/8 favourite Donnas Palm who failed to pick up in the testing conditions.
"The trip seems to suit him and it was probably a blessing in disguise that he missed Cheltenham," said Mullins.
"We'll go to Punchestown now and I think I have him in the stayers hurdle. He's never been to three miles but I think he'll be better over longer.
"He'll improve as well for better ground and I was surprised he won on that ground.
"I was thinking about pulling him out this morning but having missed Cheltenham didn't want to disappoint the owners and decided to run."
