Division one of the Buy Annual Membership Today Maiden saw Jessica Harrington double her Cork score courtesy of Boston Bruin (4/1 into 100/30) under Shane Foley. He gained a head victory in the 18-horse event. Fivestar Lynch (14/1) was the one that got closest to Boston Bruin, and it was just another head back to third-placed favourite Zarandi (5/4).
Mrs Harrington had earlier been on the mark with the Tom Madden-partnered Marshall Jennings in the featured handicap, and in the maiden the 79-rated victorious son of Kodiac, was gaining a deserved win after three solid efforts as a juvenile.
"He is a good horse and ran into a few good ones last year and it's great to get his head in front today," said Mrs Harrington's daughter Kate.
"He will improve for that and Shane said he took a good blow a furlong down and he should improve for it.
"He is a half-brother to our good filly Bocca Baciata and we'll have a meeting with Patrick Cooper, the racing manager, and see where we go after this."
