Moyglare off the mark over hurdles
Unaccompanied #8217;s presence in the Festival Hospitality On Sale 3YO Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown today marked the first runner over jumps for owner Moyglare Stud Farm and the three year old filly duly bolted up, under Paul Townend.
Returned the 4/5 favourite, Unaccompanied stretched clear for an effortless win and winning trainer Dermot Weld later stated “she is potentially a very good dual purpose mare and although she was a little green jumping the final flight, her jumping was otherwise good.”
He added “she will obviously now go for a Graded race and we’ll see how she goes there. She won as well as expected today.”
Weld, whose Majestic Concorde won the Paddy Power Chase on December 28, has now trained three winners and one second from his last four runners.
Stan James Bookmakers subsequently introduced Unaccompanied a 12/1 shot for the Triumph Hurdle.
