Mount Benbulben impresses at Limerick

Sun 13th Mar 2011, 17:58

Mount Benbulben showed himself to be an exciting prospect when landing the concluding Kevin Frost Memorial (Pro/Am) Flat Race under Andrew Duff at Limerick.

A point-to-point winner at Tinahely and a Thurles bumper winner last time, Mount Benbulben, a son of the all-conquering Beneficial, galloped on strongly up the straight to beat odds-on favourite Lovethehigherlaw by eight lengths.

Winning trainer Gillian Callaghan said: "He's improved again since Thurles. We're really delighted with him. I can't believe he did it so well. He’ll probably have a break now and come back hurdling next season."
