Mouse Morris saddled a double on the day at Thurles as French Dynamite landed the featured Horse & Jockey Rated Novice Hurdle in the hands of Robbie Power.

The French-bred gelding was bought for 165,000 pounds after winning a point-to-point last year and, after winning a maiden hurdle here in November, was thrown in the deep end against Envoi Allen at Naas last month.

This drop in class proved a lot more suitable and the 5/1 (from 13/2) chance appeared to be just getting the better of The Bosses Oscar when the 11/10 favourite made a mistake at the last.

Two and a half lengths separated the pair at the line, with a yawning gap of 21 lengths back to Anything Will Do in third.

Morris initiated his double when Whatsnotoknow justified 5/4 favouritism under Rachael Blackmore half an hour earlier.

Morris said, "He's a big baby. He's not a thief and we put the cheek-pieces on to get his mind concentrated."

Paddy Power gave the winner a 40/1 quote for both the Ballymore Novice Hurdle and the Albert Bartlett.
