Trainer Michael Halford and stable jockey Shane Foley's incredible run of recent success continued at Dundalk this evening when Great Dancer landed the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden.

The 13/8 second favourite stayed on well to Solomon Northup by half a length to provide Halford with his 10th winner at the venue in 15 days while Foley was himself steering his 11th winner in the same period.

Halford later commented “he's a big baby and has been growing in spurts throughout the year but has always shown us ability. He'll be a nice horse going a trip next year and is a big honest horse.

“He travelled better today as he got a bit lost around here the last day. He was a bit green and rolled around a bit but when Shane really grabbed a hold of him and needed him, he picked up well.

“He had a lovely attitude and loads of scope. I'm delighted with him.”
