Michael Halford saddled a one two in the Book Your Christmas Party At Dundalk Handicap as he brought up a double on this pre-Halloween programme, along with his stable jockey Shane Foley. Foley's mount Chestnut Fire short-headed Rezeki
Conor Hoban partnered stable companion, Rezeki, but that 5/1 shot just failed to master 11/4 favourite Chestnut Fire.
Half-an-hour earlier the Cooper Beech Stables winner was First Premio in the juvenile auction maiden.
"He was not winning out of turn, and Shane gave him a lovely ride as he just about gets the trip," commented Halford.
"It's a shame they have to take each other on but they are all fit and well. I'm delighted for Paul (Rooney, owner) as he's so patient."
