Moran Trains First Winner
Brian Moran, who rode Dorans Pride to win his bumper and Young Dubliner to take the Maryland Hunt Cup, trained his first winner under Rules when Fortune Seeker got off the mark in the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park/Killarney Racegoers Club 25th Anniversary Maiden Hurdle.
Fortune Seeker made all under Johnny Cullen and responded gamely when challenged up the straight. Askeaton, Co. Limerick-based Moran said, "She has been knocking on the door long enough but she stays and is tough and her future lies over fences. She might win a novice hurdle before that."
Lenny Flynn received query fractures to his right ribs in a fall from Suburu Blue in this race. He was taken to Tralee General Hospital for investigation.
