An Fraoch Mor battled well to open his account in the second of the two maiden hurdles at Wexford this afternoon.
Ross O'Sullivan 's charge was facing an easier task this afternoon having been fourth behind Ballymore winner City Island on his last outing at Naas.
The 13/8 favourite tracked the leaders in the two-miler before moving up to challenge after the third last.
Cathal Landers sent his mount into the lead going to the second last but he was soon joined by Stones And Roses
The pair battled it out going to the final flight and An Fraoch Mor found more on the run-in to secure a length-and-three-quarters win.
O'Sullivan said:- "He had the form to win it and should improve from it. When he gets to the front he looks around and is a bit leery.
“He will probably be better in a faster run race. He travelled very easy. You see the size of him, he is probably a three mile chaser.
"It's great to get it and it's great for his owner Tommy Ward who has a couple of horses with us.
"He will be minded and will probably have another run over hurdles. He'll have a summers grass then and be back next year to jump a fence. He is a lovely staying horse, a real three mile chaser down the road.
"He nearly wasn't qualified for today. He was going to be third the last day in Naas but made a mess of the last and just got beat on the line, so it worked out for the best!"
