Montero takes the feature in style
The Gerry Burke/Dessie Hughes/Roger Loughran team are an irresistible combination and their Montero made it two from two over fences with a convincing success in the featured Holmes O'Malley Sexton Chase.
A point-to-point and bumper scorer in his days with his breeder, Philip Rothwell, the chestnut, a winner at Wexford earlier this month, led from two out and went away to beat War Of The World who made his bid for glory from three out.
Hughes said: "He is small little fellow but he is a great jumper. He is a top of the ground horse and we might take him to Galway now for a two mile one furlong novice towards the end of the week. I'm very happy with him."
