Molly completes his hat-trick of wins
Top weight Ahorsecalledmolly put in a game performance to complete his hat-trick of wins, in the Tullamore Handicap Chase, for his trainer Andy Lynch with Robbie Colgan aboard.
Having disappointing when well fancied in the Midlands National over the course back in July, the 10yo son of Arzanni won next time out at Roscommon beating Jamsie Hall by a short head in a Handicap Chase over 2m 5f.
He followed up that win last time out at Bellewstown in a three mile Handicap Hurdle, dead heating with Cerveza Dinero.
Sent off the 9/2 favourite today he chased the leaders early on and was sixth halfway. He then made headway into third six fences from home.
However he was ridden three out but stayed on well from there to challenge at the last, getting to the front on the run-in to score by two lengths.
12yo Leney Dow Jones who looked a winner at the second last, finished second at 10/1 while Steel Magnate at 11/2 finished a further length and a quarter back in third.
Winning trainer Andy Lynch said afterwards: "He had a lot of weight there as he is only a small horse. The handicapper will probably stop him now.
"He has had plenty of problems and his owner (Thomas Manning) has been great to keep him going. Thomas is from Kilbride, near Fairyhouse.
"He will go for a better three mile chase now so he will have a nice light weight. He definitely needs good ground so we will keep him going while we can."
