Aidan O’Brien made it three on the day at Proudstown Park when on start four Frankel colt Modus Operandi ran away with the Follow Navan on Twitter Maiden.
Seamie Heffernan set the ball rolling for Ballydoyle in the opener on The Entertainer and Wayne Lordan secured the middle-leg of the hat-trick aboard Sir Lucan
Heffernan finished second to Sir Lucan on Wordsworth but he was back at the number one to double up on 5/2 favourite (from 7/2) Modus Operandi.
On better ground and at an apparently very suitable ten furlongs ‘the jolly’ was never far away to ultimately slam the staying-on Safari Quest by eleven lengths.
Pace-setter Entropy ended up in third, a length and a half back.
“Over a mile-and-two the first day he nearly beat a decent horse and then over an extended mile-and-four the last day he got ground out of it,” said Heffernan.
“He'll probably stay well when he's fully mature. He was more mature today and won well.”
