Mitchell scores with Luddenmore
Co Limerick trainer Ned Mitchell registered his first racecourse win since February ’08 when his Luddenmore landed the Listowel Castle Handicap at Listowel, a second winner of the season for Ballydoyle apprentice jockey Sean Levey.
The son of Pyrus chased the leaders before making good progress in the straight, eventually getting to the front one furlong out before recording a two and a half lengths win over Dreamalittledream
Afterwards Mitchell mentioned, of his fast ground winner, “we’ll keep him going over similar trips in handicaps during the summer”, before adding, with a shrug of his shoulders, “they all tell me he wants a cut in the ground!”
