Those that backed Mistiness from 10/1 into 7/1 for the first split of the Jogforjockeys.ie Apprentice Handicap were spot on as the six-year-old scored a decisive win at Fairyhouse.
Keith Clarke trainers Mistiness for the Phoenix Platinum Syndicate and in this ten furlong contest he soon led under Ross Coakley.
The Astronomer Royal gelding then made virtually all. Ridden two furlongs out, he edged left over a furlong out, before staying on well in the final furlong for a three and a half length win over Lost History
Clarke said: "He wanted the ground and it was the right trip. The blinkers helped him to focus a bit. Ross comes into me one morning a week and is a great asset.
"The horses are all running well and I'm delighted to get that. He can jump through the summer but needs to get his jumping technique a bit smarter."
