Missunited is a good one
Missunited impressed in victory at Listowel 44 days back and it was a similar story when the four-year-old daughter of Golan landed the concluding Thoroughbred County Mares INH Flat Race at Punchestown.
Niall Kelly was travelling well on Mick Winters' filly from before the straight and he let her stride on with under a quarter of a mile left to race. He sent her on from over a furlong out on the way to a three length dismissal of Supreme Carolina The pair left Burn And Turn eleven lengths back in third.
Winters commented afterwards: "To be honest I'd have been disappointed if she'd been beaten but I've been disappointed before.
"She reminds me of Sonia O'Sullivan in that she is lean, mean and there isn't a pick on her.
"Niall gave her a fine intelligent ride and she'll go the mares bumper route now."
Missunited's success is particularly pleasing for her owner, Vanessa Hutch, as she also bred the filly. (EM)
