The Peter Fahey trained Mine Now again justified joint-favourism by winning for the second time this month, in the Richie Hogan & Ashgrove Stables Handicap Hurdle at Gowran today, under David Mullins.
The 5/1 joint-favourite was ridden to win at Navan on March 1 also by Mullins, when again a 3/1 joint-favourite, and was given a similarly well judged ride today, improving to lead after the last before staying on well for a length and a quarter win over Jimmy Two Times
Fahey later commented "I think that's David's third ride for me and a third winner. I thought 8lb (rise for his latest win) would stop him but he's improving away.
"I said after Navan that he'd probably go to Fairyhouse (Festival) and he may still do that; he's been busy enough but will go on better ground. He travels great and jumps great.
"I got him after he won a point-to-point for Aidan Fitzgerald."
