Team Ballydoyle’s excellent day continued in the William Fry Maiden at Leopardstown today as trainer Aidan O’Brien and his jockey son Donnacha O’Brien completed Dublin doubles, with Cockatoo Island
Trainer O’Brien was at Epsom where his outstanding filly Minding won today’s Oaks but things were left in good hands at Leopardstown Donnacha initially steered War Decree to win the opener before landing the next maiden with Cockatoo Island, which made most of the running for his win.
Joseph O’Brien represented his father afterwards and stated “the way he ran the first day you would think he would get a mile and a quarter but he just didn't stay the last day.
“I'd imagine he'll go for a handicap next, and fast ground is probably essential for him."
