Carl Millar partnered his biggest winner over fences as Gordon Elliott made it a treble on the day with Embittered in the Foxrock Handicap Chase at Navan.
Millar, who also rode a Listed handicap hurdle winner aboard Magic Tricks at Down Royal last month and was recording his sixth victory, was seen to good effect on the 16/1 chance in this 2m4f event.
The nine-year-old gelding, who recently joined Elliott from Joseph O’Brien, was never too far from the pace and struck the front three out.
He asserted away from the penultimate fence and was in commend when staying on strongly on the run-in to beat Shantreusse by nine lengths. Genois was just a short-head back in third.
Elliott said, "He won well and it was a nice pot.
“He had a nice run the last day in Cork, we were delighted with it, and he did it well there today. Carl is good value for 7lb.
“I've no real plan for him, we'll try and find something similar.”
