Milan records shock win
Mary Hallahan saddled her first winner of the season when Owennacurra Milan caused a shock in the Students Raceday March 31st Handicap Hurdle.
The 25/1 chance jumped to the front at the final flight, and battled well under Sean McDermott to just hold off the persistent challenge of Well Insured by a head.
“He lacked in gears on summer ground, and it's a bit of a surprise that he's won over two miles. He'll be a nice horse in time, and should get three miles. We'll keep him over hurdles for the moment, and aim for another handicap over Christmas,” said Ms Hallahan, who has 12 in training near Macroom.
