Midnight Stroll justified strong support in the rated novice hurdle at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
Robert Tyner 's charge was backed from 9/2 this morning for the two-and-a-half mile contest and went to post the 2/1 favourite.
Philip Enright made up ground smoothly on the outer turning for home on the Midnight Legend gelding and he travelled well to lead before the last flight.
He was driven out on the run-in and had enough up his sleeve to hold the late charge of Didero Vallis by a length-and-a-quarter.
The winner was following up his maiden hurdle victory at Galway in late October.
"He was workmanlike in the finish and the other horse was coming back at him. They didn't go a great gallop and I'd say that suited him,” said Tyner.
"There is another one like this at Punchestown next Sunday, and we'll see how he is during the week."
