Midas stays on strongly for Derrinstown win
Midas Touch entered Classic calculations with a good performance on his return to action in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown.
Johnny Murtagh settled the Galileo colt in rear before making his move turning for home.
The 2/1 joint favourite grabbed fellow market leader Address Unknown inside the final furlong.
Aidan O'Brien 's charge was going away at the line as he posted a two-length winning margin.
"I'm delighted with him. It was his first run back and he was ready to come and start," said O'Brien.
"Johnny thought he would come on a good bit from that. It was a good solid run race.
"At First Sight was very green in front the last day but today he went an even building pace and you'd have to be very happy with that.
"I was worried because they had been a bit behind. We had a very bad winter - I've never seen frost like that.
"The last few years they've started off slowly but this year has been even slower."
Ladbrokes go 14/1 from 16/1 for the Epsom Derby while the winner was available at 18/1 on Betfair after the race.
