Mianach completes Bolger/Manning double
Trainer Jim Bolger and stable jockey Kevin Manning combined for a double at Wexford today, completing the brace with Mianach in the Black Point Handicap.
Mianach, second to subsequent dual winner Ghetto Gospel at Navan last month, looked in trouble when ridden along early in the straight but responded to a strong Kevin Manning drive to eventually score a three parts of a length win over Dragon's Den
A Stewards' Enquiry into slight interference caused by the winner to fourth placed Quarton inside the final furlong, failed to alter the result.
Bolger was represented by traveling head lad Ger Flynn who stated “we fancied him on his Navan run and he handled the track and ground well – we'll go for something similar again next.”
