Donagh Meyler has averaging more than a winner a week in recent times and seven pounds claimer steered the Karl Thornton trained Colms Dream to win the Festival 3 For 2 Deals On punchestown.com Handicap Chase at Punchestown today.
Meyler, based with Tony Martin, was riding just his 11th career winner but has now ridden seven winners in the last six weeks.
Today he again showed his abilities when producing Colms Dream with a well timed challenge before eventually holding off the challenge of runner-up Shield by half a length.
Afterwards Thornton stated "he (Colms Dream) seems to have come on from his last run and is still only six.
"A light weight is a big thing for him and he could go to Down Royal next for a 0-123 handicap. There's also a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Down Royal that he could run in and he'll probably get a break after that."
