Mel makes it two for Hayes at Tramore
V for victory, Chris Hayes celebrates this Tramore double on Melanippe

The Shirocco gelding Revolutionary Road landed a bit of a touch at Tramore last night and another of that Dalham Hall Stud sire's offspring, Melanippe proved much the best in the Power Clan Gathering Handicap. Her rider Chris Hayes was bringing up a double after St Jean s win in the first.
Melanippe obviously stays well and Hayes sent her on in the final quarter mile. The 11/2 chance soon put the contest 'to bed,' crossing the line all of seven lengths to the good from Rock N Rover
Well-backed joint favourites, Duke Of Dance and Seeyouallincoppers had to settle for fourth and eighth places respectively.
Hayes divulged of the Paul Deegan-trained winner: "She had a good run the last day. Paul put the blinkers (wore them at Clonmel last time too) and they obviously worked.
"I never had a moments worry. I moved on down the back straight as there were big horses in front of me and they were rolling around.
"She's quick on her feet. If the handicapper isn't too hard on her she should pick up another one." (DM & EM)
