Mega Mindy gained a deserved first success over fences at Limerick today as the John 'Shark' Hanlon trained mare landed the Handipak Play Live 25th July Beginners Chase for jockey Brian Hayes.
A debut winner at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on her only French start in 2016, she was subsequently bought by owner Barry Connell and failed to win in two hurdle starts before joining Hanlon.
The daughter of Turtle Bowl has returned to form since being sent over fences last April and today's win came having posted form-figures of 32-223' on her five chase starts prior to today.
After today's success Shark Hanlon stated “she had the experience, is very consistent and deserved that as she had been knocking on the door the whole time
“She is in at Killarney on Monday and if she comes out of today she'll be run.”
“The lads are a great new syndicate (Meadows Racing Club) to have in the yard and are from in Clonoulty in Tipperary. Simon Ryan, from Simon's Bar in Clonoulty, is in the syndicate and I dealt in cattle with me years ago and that's where it all came from.”
