Jockey of the moment Michael O'Sullivan was again seen to great effect when delivering Meetingofthewaters with a well timed challenge to land the Bar One Racing Handicap Hurdle at Cork.
Trained by his uncle Eugene(O'Sullivan) the gelding was produced right on the line to get the verdict in a three way photo finish that also involved both Benz and Krabat
Only fifth jumping the second last, the five-year-old still had plenty to go at the final flight but was switched to the inside and stayed on best up the rail.
Well supported from 14/1 into half those odds, the O'Sullivan trained winner is sure to have had local Mallow based punters smiling.
"I don't what went wrong at Clonmel the last day when we fancied him but he just didn't act on it. He was back up in trip today, he ran well here before and he stays. He won his point to point at Boulta 12 months ago today.
"He gave him a great ride and got up the inside. He is a nice horse going forward and while I was going to run him in a 0-109 ladies' hurdle at Limerick over Christmas, that plan is gone out the gate."
