Mcgrath From Clune travelled all over the front pair before landing the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Steeplechase by five lengths.
He was backed from 10/3 to 9/4 favourite and tanked into contention in third just behind Lake Chad and Baltinglass Hill on the long approach to the final fence.
Phillip Enright steered him to challenge between horses and the seven-year-old gelding took over just before the last obstacle. He flicked his hind legs, for the camera, in jumping it and kept on well to draw clear of Lake Chad (10/1) and Baltinglass Hill (16/1).
Trainer Robert Tyner said: "He jumps well and it was nice to get one with him.
"He'll win another little race somewhere and can mix between hurdles and fences."
This was Mcgrath From Clune's breakthrough success at the 13th time of asking.
