The father and son team of Sean and Noel McParlan combined to land the Ladbrokes Get Your Daily Odds Boost Handicap Chase with Deadheat at Punchestown.
The French import has progressed nicely in staying handicap chases this season scoring at Wexford and, having beaten all bar the front-running Rudy Catrail at Listowel last month, regained the winning thread in tremendous style here.
The seven runners were tightly bunched after four out but the 3/1 chance took control early in the straight and stretched clear before the final fence.
Noel McParlan could afford to take it easy on the run-in as his mount came home a cosy five lengths clear of the well-backed 11/8 favourite Arverne who earlier made a number of mistakes in this extended three miles event. Coeur Joyeux was a further two lengths away in third.
Sean McParlan said, “That was brilliant. He stayed on real well in the straight. They crawled the first mile and there wasn’t much pace on but he did his job well.
“We take one day at a time and we’ll see what’s there for him in three or four weeks’ time.”
