McNamara's roll continues on Glantara
Andrew McNamara is blazing his way as the early leader of the Jump Jockeys' Championship, and partnered his 22nd winner of the new season (nine clear of nearest rival Paul Carberry) when partnering Glantara to a seven lengths win in the Winner's Enclosure At The Malton Novice Chase at Killarney today.
The son of Beneficial led from three out, eventually recording a seven lengths win over Next Week 13/8 favourite in the race, Penny's Bill never travelled at any stage and was pulled up with a circuit to race and was subsequently reported to have burst a blood vessel.
Winning trainer John Kiely later reported "Glantara deserved that win and had run well at Tramore the last day. He's a great jumper and we'll find a bad race for him at Galway now!"
