McNamara records treble
Andrew McNamara recorded a treble this afternoon the first leg of his treble came aboard Dusty Sheehy's Rudi's Pleasure when winning The Gypsum Industries Handicap Hurdle for owners Robert O'Mara, Dermot O'Mara, Simon O'Mara and I.M Farnan.
The second leg of McNamara's treble came in the next race aboard the consistent Oxalido trained by Seamus O'Donnell making it three in a row for owner Patricia Monahan. It's the horse third time in a row winning here at Ballinrobe.
Seamus O'Donnell said afterwards, "He's a proper horse and has done it well today, we've being running him here in Ballinrobe because we always get decent ground. I hope the handicapper isn't too hard on him and we might go for another handicap in Galway."
McNamara didn't have to wait long for his third winner when winning on his father's horse Dromaneen Castle to land The Capco Roofing Maiden Hurdle by an impressive 18 lengths.
Trainer Andrew McNamara said afterwards, "She's by Kayf Tara and they get better with age and we might step her up in trip next time."
