McNamara doubles up on L'acajou
Jockey Andrew McNamara has hit a purple patch in recent weeks and the Co Limeick rider completed a double at Clonmel today, on L'acajou in the Slievenamon Beginners Chase.
The 6/4f had a narrow advantage over only danger The Phantom Piper on the run to the final fence. However, the Mouse Morris trained eventual runner-up make a complete mess of the final fence, handing the race to L'acajou.
Winning trainer Edward O'Grady was absent but McNamara did mention "I'm not sure what way the race would have gone had The Phantom Piper not made the mistake, although L'acajou did gallop all the way to the line."
