McNamara continues winning ways on Rigour Back Bob
Jockey Andrew McNamara partnered his sixth winner in four days when steering the Edward O'Grady trained Rigour Back Bob (who justified strong market support, 5/4 - 5/6) when easily taking the Adare Maiden Hurdle at Limerick today.
McNamara, who won the Grade 1 Nicholson Chase on The Listener at Down Royal on Saturday, needed to ride a patient race on Rigour Back Bob, improving to take over from early clear leader Regal Obligation before two out, staying on well for a 16 lengths win over Milanette
Afterwards O'Grady reported “the leaders went a hell of a gallop and Andrew (McNamara) made the right decision not to get into the race too soon.”
He added “we'll aim Rigour Back Bob at a four year olds winners' race at Fairyhouse in a few weeks and he seems to be quite a nice horse. He deserves credit for winning so well on this heavy ground.”
Rigour Back Bob is owned by the five member Gaticoma Syndicate which is headed by Galway Senior Hurling manager John McIntyre.
