McKiernan completes Thurles double
Rathcoole, Co Dublin trainer Oliver McKiernan completed a double at Thurles today when his Whatuthink gave jockey Barry Geraghty career winner 1001, when running out the five lengths winner of the competitive Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.
McKiernan, whose earlier winner Quietly Fancied was ridden by John Cullen, subsequently reported “today's two miles trip was probably short of Whatuthink's best trip – he ideally wants two and a half or three miles.”
He added “he's entered in the Drinmore Chase and if things work out, will run at Leopardstown over Christmas too. He jumped very carefully the last day bit was much sharper today.”
