Ado McGuinness bagged a quick double at Bellewstown this afternoon when Star Harbour (9/4) lunged late to land the Kilsaran Race. Roaring Gallagher came to claim front-runner Mr King inside the final furlong of the mile-and-a-half contest but couldn't hold the late charge of Star Harbour
Cian MacRedmond got a good tune from the Sea The Stars gelding late on as he got up near the line for a neck success.
McGuinness, who had also saddled Distillate to win the preceding race, said afterwards:-
“He won a good pot of money in the racing league last month and he came off the bridle as well then and then he comes back on it, he's a bit of a grinder.
“I was a bit concerned about the ground today as he would want nicer ground but he's a smart horse, a great fun horse.
“The boys have had great fun with him and have gone back and forth to England with him to that racing league.
“The boys have been very lucky with me, they are with me since I started and are a very loyal bunch. I'm delighted for them.
“We're looking forward to next year again with him. We'll probably run him on the last day in Leopardstown, in the mile-and-a-half handicap there.
“He's a handicapper over hurdles and we might try the hurdles again.”
