McDonogh wins opener
The opening race at Naas this afternoon, the Median Auction Maiden was won by the Kevin Prendergast trained Zayaan in the hands of Declan McDonogh.
McDonogh made his headway when switching to the outer from three furlongs out.
The son of Motivator kept on well to lead inside the final furlong for a half length win over Carraiglawn and Kevin Manning.
Winning trainer Prendergast said afterwards: "He travelled really well today. He ran very well at Galway but then he ran terrible at Dundalk."
He got very excited and upset in stalls. He's been working so well at home since."
"It looked to be an ordinary enough race so he'd want to improve a lot to make a stakes horse."
