McDonogh clings on in opener
There was drama close home for Declan McDonogh in the opening fillies maiden at Listowel as he had to cling on after his stirrup leather broke.
His mount La Mere Germaine had hit the front over a furlong from home and stuck on well to make a winning debut.
But the tack had started to come loose and the leather went close home as she posted a length-and-a-quarter success over Dinah Doll
Successful owner Basil Brindley revealed afterwards it was his first winner with trainer Kevin Prendergast.
