McDonogh another to double up
Declan McDonogh became the fifth person to complete a double at Dundalk tonight, when steering Ansaab to win the concluding www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden for his boss Kevin Prendergast.
Ansaab saw off the challenge of Ariyfa by two lengths but had to overcome a Stewards’ Enquiry, having drifted left and causing interference to the runner-up inside the final furlong. McDonogh was subsequently suspended for three days for careless riding in the incident.
Prendergast was not present but McDonogh did briefly say “Ansaab took to the polytrack well but he did idle a lot in front.”
