McDermott completes Limerick double
American based Sean McDermott completed a double at the beginning of his Irish winter ‘break’, when steering the Pat Fahy trained Head Turner to a narrow neck win in the O'Kelly Brothers (Mares) Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today.
Following the race Fahy stated “she made a bad mistake here the last day and it rattled her and prior to that had raced on the flat from wide draws. We bought her for a bit of craic and she has such a high cruising speed - we might give her an entry in the Boylesports Hurdle at Leopardstown in January.”
Kerry man McDermott, who began his career with Fahy, had two Grade 1 winners in America this year and today, at the beginning of his Irish winter break, won an earlier race with Val De Ferbet
