Trainer Willie McCreery and stable jockey Bill Lee completed a fine day's work at Gowran today as the pair bagged the Group 3 feature before doubling their score with 16/1 debutante Insinuendo in the concluding 2021 Golf Membership From E600 Fillies Maiden. Epona Plays had earlier won the Denny Cordell Lavarack/Lanwades Stud Stakes and while Insinuendo made a fine winning debut in the finale, McCreery also trained the two-and-a-half-lengths runner-up, and fellow newcomer, Parisienne Ways in that contest.
Ex-footballer McCreery was understandably delighted with his 1-2 and later stated “they are two lovely fillies both having their first run today.
“I bought the winner (Insinuendo) for Michael Deegan and he’s been very patient and let me take my time with her. She’s a smashing big filly and I’m delighted for Michael as it’s my first winner for him.
“Billy gave her a lovely ride. The ground is lovely there today and they should both progress from that.”
