The Stewards interviewed Ian McCarthy, rider of Fond Of A Drop (GB), placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.

Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Ian McCarthy had used his whip improperly and with excessive frequency and they therefore suspended him for 5 racedays. (dates to be confirmed by the Turf Club).

Conor Maxwell also picked up a day for his use of the whip aboard Dan George in the same race.
