Quiet Desire (9s out to 12/1 on the show) won for the first time when landing the DundalkStadium.com Handicap (45-65).
The Zebedee mare, placed three times previously on the polytrack, challenged widest of all down the straight as plenty were in with a chance coming to the final furlong.
She kept on best under Dylan Browne McMonagle (tenth winner of the season) to master the 85/40 favourite Getaway Queen by half a length, with Ragtime Red (10/1) a neck further away in third.
Winning trainer Pat Martin (third winner of the campaign) said: “I'm delighted. She was just caught on the line here one night by Chateau Musar when we looked home and hosed.
“Her cycle is a big problem to her. When she's in season or coming into season she can flop. We put her on to a liver tonic and I'm hoping it's made the difference, it certainly didn't do her any harm anyway.
“I'm so pleased for her owner Peter Cullen, who is from Clonee. He is so enthusiastic and I can't wait to see how excited he is.
“He has all his family around him tonight, it's a big deal for him and it's a big deal for us all.
“I trained her mother, Goose Island, who won seven races for us. This is the first one we've had out of her and it's a great buzz for us to get her to win.”
