Martinique looks nice in Listowel finale
Martinique storms home in the centre to win the Listowel finale under Seamie Heffernan

Form figures of ‘08’ were left behind by Martinique on her first start at three when she came home strongly to win the Oliver Broderick Fillies Maiden at Listowel.
Ballydoyle’s daughter of Le Havre was well-backed to improve off a 211 day absence from action — 4s from 6s 'on the show,' and from bigger earlier.
The 90-rated favourite Ahandfulofsummers jointly bred by Coolmore, tried to get it done from the front, but the Seamie Heffernan-partnered Martinique finished with a wet sail to win by two and a half lengths.
“She’s a big filly and she was possibly a bit weak last year,” said Heffernan on the 825,000 Guineas yearling.
“Hopefully now she’ll keep progressing and she hit the line good. I liked her.”
