Fairly static morning markets for the Graded action at Leopardstown although Drinmore winner Beacon Edge (14s into 11/1) has attracted a bit of each-way support in the Ladbrokes Novice Chase at 1.20.
El Fabiolo (injured in transit) is a non-runner in the 2m novice hurdle at 3.35 which has resulted in stablemate Sir Gerhard shortening up to 4/6 at the head of the market.
In the opening mares' handicap hurdle at 12.45, Lunar Display (8s into 7/1) and Banntown Girl (14s into 12/1) are two that will appreciate the extra bit of ease in the ground after yesterday's 12mm of rain.
Emmet Mullins went close with Rightplacerightime yesterday and his charge The Shunter making his first appearance since finishing fourth in the Galway Plate, is into 8/1 from 10s for the Leopardstown Chase at 2.25.
Mullins' Carrarea third in a valuable contest at Lingfield last month, gets in off just 10st1lb in the 2m handicap hurdle at 4.10 and is the 4/1 market leader.
There was good money around for Sea Ducor overnight and he's next in at 6/1 while Gordon Elliott's Magic Tricks who's been threatening to win a big handicap for quite a while, is into 10/1 from 14s. He looks a good ride for 5lb claimer Shane Fitzgerald who was seen to good effect on A Wave Of The Sea on the opening day of the festival.
