Kevin Manning gave Nectarine a fine front running ride to see off his three rivals in the Pat Smullen Coast To Curragh Charity Cycle August 27th Handicap at Fairyhouse.
The veteran rider was soon in front on the Jim Bolger trained filly, putting her vast experience to good use.
Travelling much easier than his rivals turning into the straight, Manning only had to push the daughter of Parish Hall out to gain a second career success.
Favourite Explorers Way chased the winner throughout and kept on best of the rest to gain minor honours.
Manning said:- “She was lying on me a little bit so I let her go to the front and she was doing her own thing in front.
“I was able to dictate my own terms and do what I wanted. I didn't realise I had won by nine lengths.
“I was giving her breathers, doing my own thing and just sitting up on her. I couldn't hear anything turning into the straight which surprised me a little bit.
“She won a nursery last year and her runs have been very good. Her Sligo run, when you see what the winner has done, it's very solid form.”
