Manning and Do The Bosanova show heart
Kevin Manning rallied 14/1 outsider Do The Bosanova to win the extended one mile one furlong handicap at Gowran Park by a nose from Words Of Wisdom
There was a three-way battle in the final furlong also involving Hadrian’s Waltz but Manning and his filly were not to be denied in the centre of the track as they prevailed from rail-hugging 4/1 co-favourite Words Of Wisdom.
Trainer Jim Bolger paid tribute to his three-year-old daughter of Galileo. He said: “I thought she was beaten. She’s an improver and she might run again this season.
“She might be able to do something more.”
In a driving finish David Wachman’s Hadrian’s Waltz took third-placed honours a neck behind Words Of Wisdom.
The other 4/1 co-favourites were Sceal Nua (9/1 in the morning) who was headed two furlongs out and finished seventh and Mamma Rosa who came home last of the nine runners.
