Mangan back in winner's enclosure
Jockey Pat Mangan returned to the winner's enclosure at Limerick today, on his second ride back from injury, when winning the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle on the Edward O'Grady trained Lou's Coole Girl
The daughter of Bob Back made most and stayed on well from the second last to shake off the challenge of Royal Crew by three lengths.
Pat 'Monty' Mangan, nicknamed after his father's Jimmy Mangan's Aintree National winner Monty's Pass, was returning from a fractured arm he received in a fall at Clonmel on November 18. His mount then, Whinstone Boy trained by Mangan Snr, subsequently won the Thyestes Chase at Gowran on Thursday.
Today's wnning trainer O'Grady was not present.
