Malleymoo (9/4f) made a good impression when winning on debut today, landing Dundalk's opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series (Fillies) Maiden for trainer Joseph O'Brien and jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle.
Bred at Kentucky's famous Calumet Farm, the daughter of English Channel dwelt leaving the stalls, raced in rear-division but quickened well in the final two furlongs to eventually score by a length and a quarter from Tea Tree Bay
Browne McMonagle commented “she was a little bit hesitant coming out of the gates and I was a little bit further back than planned.
“We were going a nice gallop and she was comfortable early. She went through the gears really nicely in the straight, she picked up well and didn't do much when she got there.
“She's definitely an exciting one for the future. I hit the line well and she'll be a nicer filly on the grass as well.”
