Malayan makes impression on debut
Malayan Mist looked a nice prospect when taking the concluding maiden at Gowran Park for Dermot Weld.
Leigh Roche produced his mount to lead a furlong-and-a-half from home in the 1m1f event and she stayed on strongly in the closing stages.
The daughter of Dansili posted a length-and-a-quarter success on her debut.
Aga Khan horses completed the placings with the John Oxx-trained Dimona second and Mick Halford's Hesamiya three-parts back in third.
"She did it very nicely," said Weld afterwards.
"Her mother won the Victor McCalmont for me here on this day seven years ago and hopefully this filly will develop into a stakes filly as the year progresses.
"She's from one of Lady O'Reilly's very best families."
