Major Power registered a first success at Dundalk today as the Eddie Lynam trained lead-horse landed the BetVictor Bet E5 Get E30 Apprentice Handicap (div 2) under jockey Ben Coen.
The son of Bated Breath had previously failed to win in nine starts but today edged an all-out short-head win over Swiss Army Officer
Afterwards Lynam stated “he’s a home-bred and it’s nice to win a little race with him. They have been running well all night, we had a second and a third, so it’s nice to get a win.
“He ran very bad on grass and only ran well up here. We use him now as a lead horse, and he leads the two-year-olds at home.
“He was just caught over a mile and a quarter here before, and a mile might be his best trip.”
